About the Role

Are you a confident communicator with a passion for delivering excellent customer service and an interest in developing a career in sales?

We are looking for a motivated and customer-focused Sales and Reservations Consultant to join a busy, friendly team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the start of their sales career who enjoys speaking to people, building relationships and turning enquiries into successful sales.

You will help customers find the right holiday to suit their interests, needs and budget, using your communication skills, product knowledge and consultative sales approach to guide them from their initial enquiry through to a confirmed booking.

You will play an important role in achieving sales targets, maximising booking opportunities and delivering an outstanding customer experience. Previous sales or customer service experience would be beneficial, but it is not essential. The right attitude, enthusiasm and willingness to learn are what matter most.

Key Responsibilities

  • Convert telephone, email, website and live-chat enquiries into confirmed bookings through confident, consultative selling.
  • Work towards individual monthly sales, conversion and revenue targets, taking ownership of your personal performance.
  • Understand customers' needs, interests, motivations and budgets to recommend the most suitable holiday options.
  • Clearly communicate the benefits and value of available products, helping customers make informed decisions.
  • Identify appropriate opportunities to upsell and cross-sell additional products and services.
  • Proactively follow up enquiries, make outbound calls and manage your sales pipeline to progress customers towards a booking.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to customer enquiries, providing clear information, next steps and regular updates.
  • Build strong customer relationships that encourage repeat business, referrals and long-term loyalty.
  • Develop detailed knowledge of products and destinations to confidently answer questions, address concerns and inspire customers.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and complete booking administration efficiently, ensuring a consistently high standard of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and team leaders, sharing knowledge, leads and effective sales practices.
  • Take part in product training, educational trips and occasional trade shows to broaden your knowledge and develop your skills.
  • Work Saturdays on a rota basis and demonstrate flexibility to meet customer demand, particularly during busy periods.
  • Follow all relevant health and safety procedures and undertake other reasonable duties as required.

Skills and Experience

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about sales, enjoys working with people and is motivated to achieve results.

You will ideally have:

  • A genuine interest in developing a career in sales. Previous sales or customer service experience is helpful but not essential.
  • A positive, resilient and proactive attitude, with a willingness to learn from feedback and setbacks.
  • A confident, professional telephone manner and the ability to build rapport quickly.
  • A consultative and empathetic approach, supported by strong questioning, listening and influencing skills.
  • Clear, persuasive written and verbal communication skills.
  • A customer-focused mindset, commercial awareness and the confidence to ask for the sale.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accurate record-keeping and high-quality administration.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines and manage multiple enquiries simultaneously.
  • Confidence in learning new systems, products and sales processes, together with a positive response to coaching and training.
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure, use initiative and contribute positively within a team.
  • An interest in walking, outdoor activities, holidays and worldwide destinations, together with good geographical awareness.

Working Hours

The standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 9.00am-5.00pm.

Flexibility is required during peak periods, particularly January and February, when weekday working hours may be adjusted to cover the office opening hours of 9.00am-6.00pm. Team shifts will typically operate on a 9.00am-5.00pm or 10.00am-6.00pm basis.

You will also be required to work approximately one Saturday per month on a rota basis. Saturday hours are normally 9.00am-1.00pm, extending to 3.00pm during peak periods in January and February.

Saturday working is paid at 1.5 times your normal rate, with additional hours worked paid accordingly. Saturday working does not result in a day off in lieu.

Salary and Benefits

  • 23 days' annual holiday, plus your birthday off.
  • Company pension scheme.
  • Private healthcare following successful completion of the probation period.
  • Hybrid working opportunities available after the initial training period.
  • On-site parking.
