• £21.34 per hour
• Whitehawk Community Hub & Library, Brighton
• Full-Time | Monday to Friday | 35 hours per week
• Please note that this is a fully office based position

We're looking for an experienced Housing Officer to join a busy tenancy services team, managing a varied caseload and delivering high-quality housing management services to residents.

This is a rewarding role where you'll balance tenancy support, enforcement, and safeguarding responsibilities while helping to create safer, stronger communities.

What You'll Be Doing

• Managing a range of tenancy and housing management cases.
• Investigating and resolving anti-social behaviour (ASB) and tenancy breaches.
• Supporting vulnerable residents and working with partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes.
• Conducting tenancy visits, estate inspections, and welfare checks.
• Preparing case files, witness statements, and legal documentation.
• Attending court hearings and representing the landlord in legal proceedings where required.
• Working closely with legal teams, police, social services, and other agencies.
• Handling complaints, disputes, and complex housing management issues.
• Ensuring properties, estates, and tenancies are managed effectively and safely.

You Will Need

• Previous experience in Housing Management, Tenancy Management, Neighbourhood Management, ASB, or a similar housing role.
• Strong knowledge of housing legislation, tenancy enforcement, and anti-social behaviour processes.
• Experience managing complex casework involving vulnerable residents.
• Confidence preparing legal documentation and supporting court proceedings.
• Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to make balanced decisions, combining support and enforcement where appropriate.
• Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Housing qualification (CIH or equivalent) desirable, although substantial relevant experience will also be considered.
