Graduate Credit Control Assistant - Eastleigh | £28,000 + £1,000 Annual Bonus | Full Time, Permanent - Hybrid role

Recently graduated in Finance, Accounting or a related subject and looking to kick-start your career?

We're looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Credit Control Assistant to join a busy finance team in Eastleigh. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate, particularly someone who has studied Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics or a similar discipline, to gain valuable hands-on experience within a commercial finance environment. You'll work closely with experienced finance professionals, developing your skills across credit control, cash allocation, account management and customer relationship management, while playing an important role in helping the business maintain healthy cash flow.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Carrying out credit checks on new customers and setting up accounts.
  • Monitoring customer accounts and reviewing credit limits.
  • Chasing outstanding payments by telephone and email.
  • Allocating incoming payments to customer accounts accurately.
  • Investigating and resolving invoice queries and payment disputes.
  • Maintaining accurate customer records and account information.
  • Supporting month-end finance processes and reconciliations.
  • Monitoring aged debt and escalating concerns where necessary.
  • Working closely with sales and finance teams to ensure prompt payment.
  • Producing updates and reports on debtor performance.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes and efficiency.

What We're Looking For

  • A degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics or a related subject would be advantageous.
  • Alternatively, previous experience in credit control, accounts receivable, finance administration or customer service.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to solve problems and make decisions.
  • A professional and customer-focused approach.
