Tate Recruitment is partnering with a leading UK higher education institution to appoint a Sustainable Procurement Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering their ambitious Net Zero goals and driving responsible, low‑carbon procurement across the organisation.
The Role
You'll support the development and implementation of sustainable procurement practices, with a strong focus on Scope 3 emissions, carbon reporting and supplier engagement. A major part of the role involves helping to roll out a sector wide Net Zero Carbon Supplier Tool, analysing carbon data, and influencing suppliers and internal teams to reduce environmental impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Support delivery of Net Zero and sustainable procurement objectives.
- Work with suppliers to improve sustainability performance and carbon data quality.
- Analyse supply chain emissions and contribute to reduction strategies.
- Ensure compliance with public sector procurement rules.
- Provide guidance on sustainability KPIs such as carbon reduction, circular economy and ethical sourcing.
- Manage end‑to‑end procurement activity when required.
About You
We're looking for someone with:
- Strong procurement experience and sustainability expertise, especially around Net Zero.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical abilities, including working with sustainability data.
- A proactive mindset and confidence working across multi‑disciplinary teams.
- Degree level qualification; MCIPS (or working towards) preferred.
