Senior Accounts Assistant - Waltham Abbey

Office Based | 9:00am - 5:30pm | Monday-Friday

This is an exciting opportunity to join an extremely successful, award-winning business with ambitious growth plans. As the company continues to expand, the finance team is growing too and this newly created position will become the 5th member of a collaborative integral department.

We are seeking a highly organised, detail‑driven Senior Accounts Assistant who thrives in a busy environment and enjoys taking ownership of varied finance responsibilities.

The Role: What You'll Be Doing

  • Posting sales invoices, credit notes, and purchase invoices
  • Processing and managing overhead invoices
  • Setting up new customers and suppliers
  • Running D&B checks
  • Raising monthly ad‑hoc sales invoices
  • Completing monthly bank reconciliations
  • Processing authorised repayments
  • Monitoring and managing the accounts inbox
  • Supporting month‑end processes, including first‑draft reporting
  • Assisting Accounts Assistants as needed
  • Supporting audits through sampling and documentation

What You'll Bring (Essential experience in the following as a minimum please)

  • Previous experience as an Accounts Assistant or Senior Accounts Assistant
  • Strong understanding of sales and purchase ledger processes
  • Experience with bank reconciliations and month‑end routines
  • Confident using Sage 200, or ability to pick it up quickly
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • A finance qualification (e.g., AAT) would be an advantage, but relevant hands‑on experience to mirror this advert is essential
