IT Technician

Based in Hertford, Permanent | Full Time (37.5 hours per week)

Join a Supportive, Forward‑Thinking Tech Team

Are you a hands-on problem solver with a passion for technology and great customer service? My client is looking for an enthusiastic IT Technician to join their friendly and dynamic IT/AV team, playing a key role in delivering seamless events and smooth day‑to‑day tech support.

Why You'll Love This Role

This is a hugely varied and rewarding position at the heart of a busy events programme. No two days are the same, one moment you'll be setting up live sound and projection for an event, the next you'll be helping a colleague troubleshoot their device or logging support requests on the Helpdesk.

If you enjoy being the person who "makes things work" behind the scenes, whether that's AV equipment, software or hardware, this role provides the perfect blend of technical challenge and people interaction.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Delivering exceptional AV support for meetings and events, including the setup, operation and dismantling of projection, sound and PA systems
  • Preparing presentations, testing microphones and supporting live event recordings
  • Creating easy‑to‑follow user guides and short videos to help employees feel confident using AV equipment
  • Instructing and assisting users with AV systems
  • Providing friendly and proactive first‑line IT support via email, phone and face‑to‑face
  • Logging and managing all requests through the IT Helpdesk
  • Supporting, maintaining and deploying a wide range of IT and AV hardware, including iPads, MacBooks, PCs, laptops, Chromebooks and projectors
  • Troubleshooting software, hardware and network issues, and managing warranty repairs where needed
  • Supporting employees with key platforms such as Windows, macOS, Google Workspace, Microsoft Office and other core systems
  • Maintaining printers and managing consumables
  • Ensuring all work, configurations and incidents are accurately documented

What We're Looking For

You don't need years of experience, just a genuine interest in technology, a positive attitude and a readiness to learn. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to grow their skills in a supportive, collaborative team with a progressive outlook on both IT and events.

What's In It for You?

You'll be joining a welcoming IT department with a strong service ethos and a commitment to professional development. Training will be provided on AV systems, IT platforms and internal processes and you'll be supported by experienced colleagues along the way.

Benefits includes:

Membership of the employee pension scheme

Lunch provided

Access to fantastic onsite facilities including gyms, a swimming pool, tennis courts and a Health & Wellbeing Centre
