Start Date: 24 November 2025
End Date: 19 December 2025 (strong likelihood of extension into the New Year)
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday 8.30-17.00 with 16.00 finish Fridays.
Pay: £13.85 per hour, paid weekly AND holiday pay accrued for later payout
Working Pattern: Hybrid - 3 days in the office, 2 days from home (if preferred)
We are seeking an experienced Personal Assistant, Secretary, or Senior Administrator to provide high-level administrative and secretarial support on an interim basis. This role is ideal for someone with a background in Higher Education Institutions (HEI) who can hit the ground running and deliver exceptional support to a team of managers.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for designated senior academic staff, managing emails, calls, and correspondence with professionalism and discretion.
- Provide comprehensive administrative support, ensuring key deadlines are met and tasks tracked to completion using Microsoft 365 tools (Excel, Word, SharePoint, Teams).
- Maintain effective document storage and information systems via SharePoint/Teams.
- Manage diaries and schedules, arrange meetings (internal/external/UK/international), and prepare documentation.
- Organise national and international travel arrangements.
- Support School committees and working groups: arrange facilities, take minutes, maintain records, and track actions.
- Collate information for reports, presentations, and projects.
- Work collaboratively across School administration networks to deliver shared objectives.
- Represent the School at University-wide events (e.g., Open Days, Graduation).
About you!
- Previous experience in a PA, Secretary, or Senior Administrator role within Higher Education.
- Highly organised, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities.
- Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft 365 applications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
