Logistics Order Processor

Location: Southampton outskirts Salary: To £28,000pa dependant on experience

Our client, a global leader in their industry, is seeking a Logistics Order Processor to join their team. This role ensures the efficient handling of customer orders and quotations from initial enquiry through to delivery, requiring strong communication skills, attention to detail, and collaboration across suppliers, freight partners, warehouse teams, and international offices.

Key Responsibilities

Order & Quotation Management

  • Accurately process customer quotations and orders, ensuring compliance and complete documentation.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and freight partners to meet agreed delivery timescales.
  • Monitor stock levels and liaise with management to maintain inventory availability.
  • Liaise with the warehouse team to ensure timely dispatch and correct packaging.
  • Track and resolve failed or delayed collections, maintaining departmental records.

Customer Service

  • Act as a primary contact for customers, responding promptly to enquiries and quotation requests.
  • Advise on product availability, delivery schedules, and alternative solutions.
  • Resolve issues efficiently while maintaining high service standards.
  • Build strong relationships with international clients and agents.

Cross-Departmental Support

  • Assist with stock holding and FIFO rotation, resolving discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with the Company Quality Policy.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in logistics, order processing, or supply chain.
  • Proven ability to manage quotations and orders from enquiry to delivery.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel essential); SAGE experience advantageous (training given).
  • Knowledge of export documentation and customs procedures would be an advantage.
