We are seeking a capable and enthusiastic Legal Assistant to join our busy Conveyancing department. This role involves providing high-quality administrative support to our lawyers, enabling them to focus on more technical legal matters. You will play a key part in maintaining strong client relationships and contributing to a positive and professional working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handling client enquiries and preparing straightforward legal documents
- Typing correspondence, managing files, and ordering searches and Land Registry documents
- Preparing files for billing and screening incoming calls
- Sorting and prioritising post, emails, and messages
- Providing reception cover and liaising with clients and third parties
- Upholding LEXCEL standards and Law Society requirements
- Understanding basic Solicitors Accounts Rules relating to client monies
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience in legal work
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong administrative abilities and attention to detail
- Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
- Collaborative approach and sound decision-making skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other IT systems
- Flexible, organised, and able to manage a varied workload
Desirable:
- Background in conveyancing
- Experience within a busy legal team
