On behalf of our client, a small, traditional property business with a long-standing reputation in the region, we are recruiting for a Commercial Property Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a close-knit team and take ownership of a diverse portfolio that includes listed buildings, modern industrial units, some residential properties and farmland.
This role is ideal for a hands-on property professional who enjoys variety, responsibility and building strong relationships with tenants and contractors alike.
Office based in Hitchin SG5 working closely in a company of six your pivotal role will be a collaborative one, communicating closely with the Directors and Finance team.
Responsibilities
- Maintenance Coordination
Oversee day-to-day property maintenance, liaising with trusted contractors to ensure and inspect timely and high-quality work across a wide range of property types, ensuring compliance with health & safety standards and agreed service levels. - Tenant Liaison
Act as the main point of contact for tenants, handling queries, resolving issues, and maintaining positive, professional relationships. - Rent & Lease Administration
Support rent collection, lease renewals, and rent reviews, working closely with legal and finance contacts to ensure accuracy and compliance. - Compliance Oversight
Ensure all regulatory checks, certifications, and documentation related to property rentals are up to date and fully compliant with current legislation. - Property Inspections & Reporting
Conduct site visits and inspections and proactively addressing any issues.
Our ideal person for this role and organisation will have:
- Previous experience in property management, ideally across both commercial and residential sectors
- Efficient organisational and diplomatic communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple contractors and projects simultaneously
- Familiarity with heritage and agricultural property types is advantageous
- Knowledge of lease terms, rent reviews, and property legislation
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the portfolio
