Big Data is about taking disparate and varied data sources and reviewing them together, reviewing them collectively, to eke out meaning.
So it is about the volume of data, the variety of it and how it changes or its velocity. Analysing this data sets out to identify and predict future outcomes or which ‘correlate’ with an outcome. Whilst it does not always say ‘why’, it does say ‘what’ are the causes of attrition.
The seminar detailed five elements that were identified as the key causes of attrition:
1. Macro Economic Factors
2. Company Practices
3. Workforce Relationships
4. Job Characteristics
5. Worker Characteristics.
