Marketing and Communications Manager - Eastleigh - £35,000-£40,000 - Hybrid role working from home 2 days a week
We are recruiting for a new role in a growing team for a not-for profit organisation, and this is a fantastic opportunity to apply your expertise and creativity. The key purpose of this role is to help increase membership and engage with new and existing audiences to shape and deliver a multi-channel marketing and communications strategy for a leading membership body.
The main responsibilities will include creating and overseeing the activation of the marketing strategy and using data insights and analytics to grow.
Marketing and Communications Manager duties:
- Develop, implement and maintain a strategic marketing and communications strategy, annual marketing and communications plan and monitor and report on outcomes to meet the above aim and objectives, including regular review of risks, trends and forecasts.
- Proactively identify growth and revenue opportunities to support organisational aims and objectives.
- Oversee strong relationships with key media outlets, journalists, and influencers to secure press coverage and increase public awareness
- Maintain and further develop an effective website - direction, content, consistency and tone of voice etc. To use audience insight and data analysis to determine priorities and curate campaigns, projects, and content from across the organisation.
- Develop and improve supporter journeys.
- Manage the shop facility and its budget, including new product and branding development
- Assist the Chief Executive/senior leadership team and Board to oversee strategic and operational issues, managing risks related to communications, brand, and public image.
- Compile and submit regular marketing reports to the Chief Executive/Board.
- Manage marketing agencies and freelancers to deliver work in line with the marketing and communications strategy in an efficient and timely manner.
- Identify opportunities for expanding the membership base and develop targeted outreach strategies to grow all categories of membership.
Skills and Experience required
- A minimum of two years' experience at a senior level in a similar role.
- Experience of leading on strategic marketing and public relations (PR) planning, analysis, and activation.
- Demonstrable track-record of using audience data and insights to make strategic recommendations.
- Solid understanding of digital marketing channels and how to use them to target relevant audiences.
- Ability to build meaningful working relationships (internal and external) to shape and direct campaigns and activities and to work together to get the results.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to inspire confidence by adopting an entrepreneurial and creative approach.
- Experience of managing budgets.
- Experience of appointing, managing, developing and appraising staff.
