Job Title: Head of Compliance

Location: Nottingham (Hybrid)

Salary: £75,000 - £90,000 depending on experience

We are partnering with a leading company based in Nottingham to recruit an experienced and dynamic Head of Compliance. This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned compliance professional who comes from a financial services background, to lead and shape the compliance function, ensuring the company continues to meet and exceed regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities include:

Culture and Strategy:

  • Build and nurture a culture of compliance, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Support and guide the Compliance and Audit Manager, providing expertise and leadership.
  • Collaborate with the MD and Operations Director to establish key objectives for the Compliance team.

Compliance Monitoring:

  • Overhaul and take full responsibility for the Compliance Monitoring Plan.
  • Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of compliance measures and controls, ensuring continuous improvement.

Risk Management:

  • Identify and evaluate potential risks to business objectives.
  • Implement measures to mitigate or eliminate risks, conducting thorough risk assessments and reporting findings appropriately.

Policy and Procedure Management:

  • Ensure company policies and procedures are robust and in line with regulatory guidance.
  • Continuously review and update policies to maintain a strong compliance framework.

Management Information (MI) and Reporting:

  • Provide comprehensive compliance MI with analytic analysis to senior management.
  • Prepare and present board reports to keep management informed

Skills and experience:

  • In-depth knowledge of UK financial services regulations, particularly high-cost credit (this is essential for the role)
  • 10+ years of experience in compliance within the financial services sector, particularly high-cost credit (this is essential for the role)
  • Proven experience managing a compliance monitoring plan and leading a compliance team.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to influence and build professional relationships at all levels of the organisation.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience in developing and implementing compliance policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage risk and resolve compliance issues effectively.
