
Head of Quality and Practise Development
- Salary up to £70,000
- Based in Winchester/ with travel to other sites based in the UK.
- Hybrid flexibility
Our client is looking for a Registered Nurse to fulfil this position and create a culture of learning and excellence within the care services offered by this charitable organisation.
This person will ensure that clinical care delivery supports the organisations vision, purpose, and goals, which aim to provide a complete range of connected services for care and support in later life. The role also leads on the management and review of clinical risk, to drive improvements in quality standards and ratings, and regulatory compliance.
Essential requirements:
- Registered Nurse
- Good knowledge and understanding of the UK social care regulatory environment and experience of working with regulators and safeguarding teams.
- Evidence of further professional development in relation to care, management, or quality
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Pragmatic in approach with strong problem solving and analytical skills: able to apply these in challenging situations.
- Able to coach and motivate others.
- Car driver with full driving licence.
This role in broken down into four parts, Quality management, Practise Development, People Management and Corporate Responsibilities.
Quality
- Take the lead in any major reviews and investigations, ensuring a robust and objective scrutiny of the quality of care, to transparently identify good practice and areas for improvement.
- Review and monitor all government guidance including updates and legislative changes as regards social care; report on these and make recommendations for policy changes as needed.
- Lead a cohesive and collaborative approach to the implementation of quality assurance activities across the charity's care services.
Practise Development
- Develop quality tools and materials that supports and enables colleagues in assessment and improvement of standards. Work closely with clinicians and home managers to ensure that colleagues are clear in their responsibilities and have the resources that they need to succeed.
- Work closely with the learning and development team to ensure that clinical skills development is integrated into colleagues training and development plans to enhance their skills and expertise. Ensure the appropriate reporting of training statistics to provide relevant data for regulatory compliance.
People Management
- Provide strong support to team members through regular one to one meetings, identifying development objectives and reviewing progress, developing plans that ensures needs and aspirations are met. Monitor any issues around performance, absence or similar, intervening to discuss and provide support as required.
Corporate Responsibilities
- Take an active role in the Business Leadership team.
- participate in out of hours call support when required.
- provide reports for the trustees and attend clinical governance committee meetings.
- carry out all duties in line with business policies, procedures, and guidelines.
