Product Manager - Eastleigh - £30,000-£35,000 Hybrid role working from home 2 days a week

We have a rare opportunity for an experienced Product Manager to work for one of our long standing global clients based on the outskirts of Southampton. The Product Manager will be responsible for both product planning and product strategy. This includes managing the product throughout the full product lifecycle, gathering and prioritising product and customer requirements, defining the product vision and delivery of winning products.

It also includes working closely with purchasing, sales, marketing and support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. The Product Manager's job also includes ensuring that the product and marketing efforts support the company's overall strategy and goals.

Product Manager duties include:

  • Develop product marketing strategies to enhance offerings to customers
  • Develop a deep understanding of technical details and uses for assigned products.
  • Build strong relations with suppliers.
  • Determine and manage initial stock packages, as well as adjustments to strategy and execution of stocking strategies by part number.
  • Work with purchasing to maximise the value of inventory by meeting financial and operating goals and KPI's, including product budgets, inventory turns, obsolescence, slow moving and excess inventory and customer service levels.
  • Manage stock rotations within our return rights with suppliers.
  • Work with purchasing to negotiate pricing with suppliers and scheduling annual supplier blanket orders.
  • Manage the day-to-day activities including pricing, product strategy, inventory management and setting up of part numbers and bill of materials in the ASW (ERP) system.
  • Maintain internal price and delivery (P&D) module, responding promptly to sales.
  • Assess competitive products and other distributors offering the same or similar products and seek to improve

Experience and qualifications

  • Ideally a minimum of 5 years' industry related experience preferred including sales, marketing, product management, distribution, asset management, etc.
  • Product/Marketing diploma or equivalent desirable.
  • Bachelor's degree or related equivalent experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Second European language desirable, but not essential.
