A personable, engaging and reliable Finance Assistant is required to join a lovely not for profit organisation based in Hitchin. As a supportive and adaptable Finance Assistant you will play a key role is supporting the business. We are looking for a friendly and flexible individual who can work 14 hours a week, with flexible working patterns.

Within this role you be supporting the Head of Finance in all matters related to the organisations finance function.
As Finance Assistant you will ultimately be responsible for:
Creating and processing invoices
Processing income received
Managing Debtor records
Banking and bank reconciliations
Producing payment schedules
Managing a product/ asset inventory
Supporting payroll processing
Assisting with the month end process and monthly financial reporting
Processing journal entries
The ideal Finance Assistant candidate will need:
- To have worked within a similar role
- Good knowledge of basic accounting procedures, processes and systems (Sage 50 ideally)
- Excellent Excel skills
- Good awareness of GDPR
- Ideally be AAT qualified
- Great written and verbal communication skills
- To be confident and likes to use your own initiative
This is an office based role based in Hitchin Town. The right candidate can expect to receive a salary up to £20,000 pro-rata, plus a nice benefits package, which includes free courses, free attendance of all special events hosted by the organisation and 25 days holiday + bank holidays.
