Complaints & Claims Handler

£20,000 - £21,000 depending on experience

Nottingham City Centre

The role:

As a Complaints & Claims Handler you will be responsible for handling regulated customer complaints, complex queries, Section 75 claims and customer dissatisfaction. Your role will involve a range of investigative, evaluation and decision making tasks. You will liaise with internal and external stakeholders to determine appropriate resolutions in order to provide our customers with full and fair responses. You will be organised and efficient, enabling you to resolve cases in a timely manner and in line with the business and regulatory guidelines and SLAs.

You would be responsible for:

  • Complaint & Claims handling and resolution
  • Reporting and communication
  • Key performance measures

Experience required:

  • MS Office skills: strong working knowledge of Word, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Excellent written and spoken language skills: Your role will involve contact with both customers and clients so you'll need to be a confident communicator across multiple channels
  • Analytical skills: Strong investigative, evaluative and problem solving capabilities
  • Attention to detail: it is crucial the complaints and claims are handled thoroughly to ensure effective resolution
  • Highly organised: you will be managing a range of tasks, so organisation and the ability to plan ahead and prioritise under pressure is vital
  • Empathy: As you are dealing with complainants, this skill is vital to ensure the correct level of conversation
  • Self-Starter: the ability to identify issues and opportunities, whilst being willing to proactively tackle them is important
  • Regulatory: Good understanding of FCA principles along with previous experience of delivering fair, customer focused outcomes within a regulated environment, specifically banking/finance


  • Demonstrable experience of working with FCA regulated complaints as a complaint handler
  • Claims: Evidence of handling section 75 claims effectively and in line with the CCA

Training would be a 4-6 week period within their offices then you would start to work a hybrid working model having the luxury of working within their beautiful offices and from home.
