This is a fantastic role for a subject matter expert in Human Resources and will deliver organisation focused Human Resources services to all functional areas;This includes the provision of an effective specialist HR consultancy service to all customers through ensuring strong employee relations business focused HR policies and procedures and the provision of comprehensive advice and practical implementation of all HR matters such as, change management, employee relations, development and interpretation of policies and procedures, recruitment and retention, performance management and organisational development.This is a 6-month temporary role with a pay rate of £16.97ph. The role will be working from home with occasional requirements to work from the Derby office · Provision of high level professional and practical advice and guidance to customers on the full range of strategic and transactional HR matters. This will involve building and maintaining collaborative and productive working relationships with internal and external customers, colleagues, trade unions to establish professional credibility and maintain and expand the service provided for the future as well as develop, promote, and maintain a culture of healthy employee relations and staff involvement and engagement. · Provision of advice on workforce and succession planning, job and department design;· Assistance with and implementation of change management and service improvement projects;· Provision of highly complex support and advice on a comprehensive range of employment and employee relations matters, such as long-term sickness, performance management, grievance and disciplinary, redundancy terms and conditions, policies and procedures;· This will include making appropriate interventions with the customer as necessary, such as leading casework through to successful conclusion by supporting managers and ensuring that prompt action is taken to address performance matters, such as misconduct, poor performance and sickness absence. It will be necessary to attend informal and formal meetings (including hearings) on and off site which may include visiting employees (including their own homes), as well as liaison with GP Practices and Occupational Health Providers where necessary.· Participate in and lead on where required, projects supporting the development and maintenance of a healthy employee relations and performance management culture.· Consult/negotiate with trade unions over such matters as restructuring, redeployment, and redundancy processes.· Keep up to date with developments in employment legislation and HR best practice to ensure that continuous development and improvement to the service offered to customers; and where this impact on policies and procedures, ensure they are kept up to date. Ensure these developments are communicated to all customers in a timely manner.· Lead and contribute to the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures (including the development and/or delivery of training), making recommendations for review and improvements in line with customer requirements. This may include interpretation and application of national terms and conditions across customer organisations.· Consult/negotiate with trade unions and managers on the development of new and/or review existing policies.· Provide advice and guidance to customers on matters relating to recruitment and retention to promote a climate of good recruitment practice, achieve optimum staff levels and the right outcome for the customer, working in partnership with the People Services Team to:§ Provide advice and guidance to managers in the development of job descriptions and person specifications to aid job design by gauging the appropriate level of support needed. More extensive interventions may be required at the customers request.§ Ensuring job evaluations take place in a consistent and timely manner, in liaison with the People Services team who manage this process.§ Advising on and implementing innovative recruitment and/or retention solutions to aid customer workforce plans.§ Designing and/or participating in recruitment processes. This may include interviewing, testing and assessment centres.§ Support managers if required in the recruitment process, including advising how to constructively feedback to a candidate or responding to recruitment complaints.· Ensure that any reward and remuneration policies and procedures are maintained; as well as advising customers on any reward and remuneration issues. This will also require attendance at relevant customer meetings to provide specialist advice, support, and guidance, for instance the Remuneration and Terms of Service Committee.· Support the Head of HR&OD and Senior HR Business Partner in the development, implementation and monitoring of the customers Workforce and Organisational Development Strategy in line with strategic and operational business plans.· Ensure the development and delivery of training, and other development interventions, in line with the organisational objectives, to ensure high quality people management processes and behaviours.· Provide specialist TUPE/COSOP advice to customers and support both incoming and outgoing processes where necessary. This will involve liaising with appropriate HR departments, affected employees, staff side and legal representatives to ensure the transfer takes place successfully.
