We are looking for a Marketing Officer to work 35 hours per week for a 3 month period to support a Faculty team at Southampton University. This role can be based anywhere in the UK, 100 percent remote. You will be part of a very talented and supportive team. The hourly rate is £16.50 to £19.00 per hour.

Supporting the team during a busy period the person must have good relationship building skills and able to understand scientific subjects enough to be able to present this to prospective students. They would be responsible for marketing programmes to future students in the faculty of Environment & Life Sciences (FELS).

Key Responsibilities include:

Develop and facilitate an integrated marketing plan for a designated Faculty in line with the Faculty's strategic plan and the University's overarching marketing strategy. Delivery will be via the most appropriate marketing channels and through a mixture of facilitation and implementation. Results of marketing activity will be evaluated to measure success. Keep the Faculty informed of all marketing activity via relevant communication channels.

Observe trends and working with colleagues in Planning, Student Recruitment and the International Office use market intelligence to identify opportunities that will inform the Faculty's marketing plan as well as contribute to the University's marketing strategy. Examples include competitor benchmarking, new product development, new market development and marketing activity metrics.

Attend regular marketing team meetings with the Head of Marketing Strategy and Management and Senior Marketing Manager to present and agree School/department marketing plan, review progress on current initiatives, discuss problems arising and identify new challenges. Contribute to University-wide initiatives or corporate projects.

Provide marketing advice and support to the Faculty's senior management and develop effective working relationships across the academic units as appropriate. Ensure the Faculty is appropriately represented at relevant meetings. Share best practice across Communications and Marketing and the wider University to maximise marketing effectiveness and establish credibility as a marketing expert.

Establish effective performance monitoring systems for all marketing activity against agreed objectives.

Manage the Faculty's marketing budget to ensure value for money. Ensure that the procurement of marketing goods and services meets University regulations.
