Tate have partnered with a social justice charity based in Leeds, to recruit for a Referral Officer to join them ASAP.This role is initially temporary for 2-3 months but could be extended or possibly even made permanent for the right candidate.Hours of work are full time, Monday to Friday. There are two shift patterns on offer, either 08:00 to 16:00 or 10:00 to 18:00.Within this role, you will become part of the team that coordinates accommodation referrals for individuals who are being released from custody on home detention curfew, or offenders who are currently in the community but there has been a break down in the address and they are unable to continue to reside there.
Key duties and responsibilities:
· To take referrals and general enquiries, via telephone, email and fax, and provide accurate information and advice.· Make timely decisions regarding the placement of service users, working in conjunction with support colleagues and managers, and in line with contractual policies.· To maintain accurate records at all times and highlight service users who may present a high risk, to colleagues in the most efficient way.· To provide customer service of the highest quality, developing positive relationships with internal and external key stakeholders and referrers.· To undertake related administrative tasks, including coordinating and collating feedback from service users.· To input data, analysing and flagging any anomalies to the relevant line manager.
The ideal candidate:
· Experience of working within a care or support setting, with vulnerable people who have a range of support needs, would be advantageous. · Skilled in developing professional relationships with vulnerable and challenging participants and developing positive working relationships with referral agencies and partner organisations.· Ability to remain calm and neutral whilst gathering sensitive and potentially distressing information about service users circumstances.· Empathetic approach and a personal commitment to equality and inclusion.· An enhanced DBS check will be required for this role.
