Customer Care Advisor

Job Summary/ Purpose:

To liaise with customers concerning all aspects of arrears and VAT deferment and to support the customer care team leader to ensure that arrears levels are kept to a minimum.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Contacting all customers who have fallen into arrears.
  • Ensuring customers pay on time.
  • Taking payments by PDQ.
  • Allocating bank transfers to agreements.
  • Keeping all notes on Sentinel and VAT deferment spreadsheets up to date.
  • Raising late fees and VAT deferment charges when needed.
  • Checking which agreements have completed their monthly rentals and chasing for final payments i.e. option to purchase and secondary rentals.
  • Production of settlement figures.
  • Reaching targets.
  • Keeping all customers below 2 months arrears at all times.
  • Ensuring all relevant Company policies and procedures are adhered to, particularly the Arrears & Repossessions, TCF and Vulnerable Individuals Policies.

Additional Duties: (list other duties that maybe required to undertake from time to time)

  • Assisting with cherished transfer (contacting customers when we have not received their log book) when required.
  • Dealing with customers general queries and payment date changes.
  • Answering the telephone from the team's direct numbers, internally and externally.

Competencies: (skills and abilities required for role)

· Excellent customer service skill.

· Empathy with customers.

· Good arithmetic.

· Sound working knowledge of raising settlements.

· Good computer literacy skills especially in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Specialist Skills, Qualifications and Experience

    • 5 GCSE's at Grade "C" or above (or the equivalent) including Maths and English.
  • Previous customer care experience is desirable but not essential.
