A great opportunity for an experienced hands-on Finance Controller to join a company that has traditional values with a modern approach. Ideally you will have experience with working in a SME and have a financial qualification (ACCA, ACA or CIMA). The company are looking for someone to work a minimum of 32 hours a week.

Your key responsibilities will be:

. Deal with all accounting queries

. Processing purchase orders and invoices; filing and keeping records; co-ordinating expense claims and credit-card reconciliation

. Line managing Accounts Assistant and Credit Controller

. Initiating and authorising payments via online banking facilities

. Maintaining the company's financial records

. Monitoring cash balances and keeping a schedule of cash flow

. Liaising with the company's accountant

. Interacting with pension scheme providers

. Preparing and submitting the quarterly VAT returns to ensure liabilities are paid on time

. Processing payroll data in accordance with statutory and contractual obligations and to pre-defined timescales

. Scheduling the payroll processing every month

. Producing divisional P&L reports, CIS returns, debtor reports and creditor reports

. Ensuring sales invoicing is completed in an accurate and timely manner

The business needs:

. Relevant experience, ideally gained in an SME

. Ability to work independently and manage a wide variety of tasks

. Line management experience

. Excellent interpersonal skills

. Familiarity with accounting software (e.g. SAGE50, SAGE Payroll)

. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)

. An excellent eye for detail and the ability to communicate and challenge decisions at all levels

We would recommend you have your own transport due to the remote location of the office.

Salary will be on a pro rata of £45,000 if reduced hours preferred (equiv £21.00 per hour) based on experience. You will have the flexibility to work the hours you would like. Along with a company pension you will also get 20 days holiday plus bank Holidays.
