This growing company already provides solutions to some of the worlds biggest names in broadcast and media. Their systems are manufactured from a head office in Berkshire where they also provide support for their products. We are looking for someone who is passionate for interacting with customers and implementing complex technical solutions, have a natural ability to understand business process and product development process.In the role of Customer support Engineer you will work directly with customers and partners to solve their problems with our systems. Using your project management skills, organisational skills, expertise and attention to detail you will develop a strong relationship with technical counterparts within the customer organisation. You will setup virtual infrastructure and software mirroring the customers environment to assist customers and perform troubleshooting as a part of the support process. This position offers exposure to a broad range of software and hardware.

Job Responsibilities· Worldwide support for Debian Linux-based high-throughput storage server products over ticket/email or telephone, with regular remote support. Experience with clients running Windows, OSX, & Linux.Testing, replicating, and resolving customer's issues using similar hardware and software.· Diagnosing and resolving networking issues, as well as recommending configurations to maximise network performance with 1, 10, & 40 GbE equipment.· On-site installation and supporting existing systems for resellers and end users· Knowledge of enterprise grade server components, i.e. motherboard/processor, RAID controllers, networking adaptors, and disks (spinning and SSD).· In-house performance testing new hardware for future sales.· Managing, testing, and actioning unit warranty repairs, plus part RMAs, both from customers and to manufacturers.· Software testing for future releases.· Assisting sales dept. with pre-sales recommendations and visits to potential customers.· Building, configuration, and maintenance of internal application servers using CentOS and KVM, for example a company-wide TimeMachine server.· Internal support and hardware acquisition/setup for colleagues.· Repair/upgrading Apple Mac hardware, both desktops and laptops, as well as domestic PC hardware.· Experience with popular NLE software including Apple Final Cut 7 & X, Adobe Premiere, Avid Media Composer, Davinci Resolve.Critical Competencies· Must be able to manage multiple projects utilising strong planning and organisational skills· Experience in customer software implementations, including requirements gathering, conceptual and detailed design, configuration, testing, training, change management, and support· Excellent business process and best practices experience or aptitude· Analytical nature with the ability to solve complex business issues using a systematic approach· Technical aptitude and a high degree of self- motivation to train and achieve ALM application, customisations and installations understanding/certifications· Outstanding verbal, written and presentation skills with the ability to build effective customer relationships· A driven self-starter, able to work independentlyMinimum Requirements· An understanding of support processes and tools· Experience working directly with customers and end users, specifically working with technical staff· Ability to learn and master new technologies with a technical aptitude· Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with a proven track record in building excellent working relationships and operating effectively as a member of a leadership team.· Strong communication and people skills.Desired Skills· Working in IT support 1 year· Experience with Linux operating systems, both Debian and Hat based. Knowledgeable with file sharing, and protocols such as Samba (Windows), NFS, SSH, and Netatalk (Apple).· Set up and maintain internet services such as Apache, MySQL, and PHP/PHPmyadmin.· Hands-on experience and knowledge using and troubleshooting all Microsoft Windows operating systems from Windows 3.11 up to Windows 10, as well as Windows Server 2003, 2008, and 2012. Have sound knowledge on AD Servers (Active directory).· Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables), and MS Access.Job Type: Full-timeSalary: £24,000.00 to £30,000.00 /PA
