HR Generalist

We are looking for a HR Generalist that wants to get hands on in a well-established company! Are you a well-rounded HR Administrator that is looking for that next step in your career? This opportunity will allow you to develop in every area of Human Resources as well as giving you an opportunity to help develop and grow the processes and systems within this expanding company.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate and complete Human Resources administration including personnel files, contracts, job descriptions, annual leave, sickness absence and ensuring compliance with GDPR as applicable
  • Provide support and guidance for managers and staff on HR issues including employment legislation and performance management. First line of support for Disciplinary & Grievances with support of external HR consultancy
  • MIS - To accurately maintain, provide and analyse management information such as headcount and payroll analysis vs budget and other data analysis
  • To oversee the recruitment process, including liaising with employment agencies and vacancy posting, interviewing, offers & contracts, on boarding
  • Responsible for managing the Company Induction and on boarding
  • Responsible for managing the maternity process and associated documentation
  • Responsible for conducting exit interviews and associated documentation for leavers, liaising with Accounts and the Facilities co-ordinator as required
  • Responsible for the Immigration process and associated documentation
  • Managing employee benefits packages including insurance plans, eye care etc
  • To support management with annual reviews and KPI/objectives process & implementation of new Performance Review/Appraisal system
  • To review and update the Employee and Company Handbook, in line with changes in law/company policy, in conjunction with the HR consultant and HR/Office Manager
  • Involvement in projects as delegated, from time to time
  • To maintain and ensure accurate and complete Company organisational charts
  • Responsible for the Payroll process for UK Business working with external payroll company & administration of the NEST pension scheme

Experience / Skills:

  • Full / Part CIPD and or Degree Level
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • An ability to prioritise, plan and organise work whilst in a busy environment.
  • Strong administration skills and experience in a similar sized company
  • Experience of providing and analysing Management Information
  • The ability to communicate at all levels (written and verbal)
  • Internal Customer Service and Team working skills
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Strong efficiency and punctuality
  • A self-motivated and self-directing person
  • Numeracy and literacy competence
  • Intermediate level of Microsoft Office/good Excel skills


Salary: Circa £30k

Hours: 9am to 6pm

Probationary period: 6 months

Healthcare: Axa PPP after 6 months, Biennial eye care vouchers

Holiday: 20 days plus bank holidays

Location: Watford, Hertfordshire
