Business Development Manager - Working for a global B2B Marketing Services Agency


£35k plus Bonus + Career Development

Based in Chertsey, Surrey

We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager (BDM) to join our client's European Sales team.

The BDM will be responsible for selling digital services to mid-market technology companies and key agencies of leading technology companies.

You will be passionate about sales, excellent at engaging with senior marketing contacts at a professional level and driven by sales success.

You will have gained experience in a similar role before and have some understanding of B2B marketing services, e.g. you worked in a marketing agency in a sales or account management role.

Key duties:

  • Your responsibility is twofold:
    • Promote and digital services to midsize technology companies
      • Identify and engage with key decision makers
      • Generate opportunities and close bookings
      • Relationship management
      • Follow up on Inbound enquiries in your territory
    • Establish and develop relationship with the large marketing agencies across Europe and promote and sell our digital products and services
      • Identify and engage with Account Manager of large technology companies at the agencies
      • Promote and sell digital services
      • Maintain ongoing engagement with the Account Management teams, growing their awareness
  • Achieve your monthly, quarterly and annual sales bookings target and related KPIs
  • Grow your network of contacts within your given key accounts, understand their strategies and structures, build an engagement strategy
  • Review existing relationships across the sales teams in your given accounts to leverage opportunities
  • Build Account and territory plans
  • Become an expert in digital offerings and their value proposition in the marketplace
  • Manage all stages of the sales process
  • Forecast accurately expected bookings
  • Work collaboratively with the Analyst teams to support your sales approach
  • Be a strong team member and enjoy winning in a team environment
  • Consistently achieve and exceed sales performance objectives
  • Performance measurements include monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales objectives as well as additional KPIs (e.g. size of pipeline, meetings held etc.)


  • 2+ years of marketing services sales or sales/account management at a marketing agency
  • Must understand digital marketing and modern techniques in B2B
  • Comfortable in engaging with senior marketing managers
  • Must be comfortable discussing business value, ROI, marketing strategy and general business conditions; know how sales, marketing, and business development work together to achieve revenue goals
  • Must have proven success consistently achieving and exceeding sales performance objectives
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Good at building and maintaining relationships with C-level
  • Team player attitude
  • Holds themselves accountable for consistently exceeding results
  • Native English speaker, additional European language skills a plus
