Purchasing Assistant/Business Admin Apprentice - £14,000 - St Albans

Tate are proud to be recruiting for a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious and committed Business Admin Apprentice with a can-do attitude to join a Specialist Cable Supplier.

This role is for someone who is passionate about doing a good job and willing to continually learn - you will be fully trained and supported through your career progression. Some of the Senior Managers today started as apprentices!

Your role will include, but is not limited to:

  • Assisting in the monitoring, forecasting and planning of stock requirements
  • Communicating with supplier in the UK and overseas on the telephone and over email in order to process orders, agree delivery times and pricing
  • Negotiating with suppliers and freight companies in the UK and worldwide
  • Assist in resolving any issues with suppliers such as stock delays, stock availability and shortages
  • Keeping other departments across the business informed on stock deliveries and liaising with Accounts on POs and invoicing
  • Supporting the sales team in order to meet the needs of the customer

Skills and Experience:

  • GCSEs at Grade A-C (or equivalent) including Maths and English
  • Good understanding and experience working with Microsoft Office (Excel, Work and Outlook)
  • Natural interest in electronics, IT hardware, or similar
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Comfortable working with numbers
  • Self-motivated and most importantly have a can-do attitude
  • Keen to learn and achieve high standards
  • Assertive and unafraid to ask questions in order to support own learning
  • Enjoy working as part of a team

You will learn and develop your skills to provide the customer with a service that beats the competition and will have the opportunity to learn the technical aspects of the product along the way.
