Accounts / Admin Assistant

Where: East Sussex - Due to the location of this role, you MUST have a car

Salary: £20-22k

Our client is a leading manufacturer of sample preparation equipment for the electronics market. The role of accounts/admin assistant is a new position due to growth of the company and will provide accounting and administrative support for the sales, service and finance teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Answering the telephone, screening and directing calls
  • Supporting the accounts receivable function of the finance team; processing invoices, debtor management, ad hoc reporting and filing
  • Providing support to the service team by answering, screening and forwarding incoming customer emails and enquiries
  • Dealing with existing service contract renewals and establishing new service contracts
  • Preparing and analysing service reports and monitoring against service KPI's
  • Carrying out other reasonable tasks as required by Management

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • GSCE in Maths and English

Required Experience:

  • Previous experience of working within a service organisation an advantage
  • Proficiency with software accounting and ERP packages (knowledge of SAP Small Business One an advantage)
  • Experience with Top Desk Service Management Software or similar an advantage
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel
  • Proven customer service skills

The successful candidate will have experience or knowledge in:

  • Bookkeeping and accountancy procedures
  • Customer service processes and reception duties

Preferred Skills:

  • Confident telephone manner
  • Well-developed numerate skills
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Ability to work to tight timescales
  • Solid organisational skills and the ability to prioritise a varied workload
  • Self-motivated person with an ability to work with a low level of supervision
