Assistant Manager, Business Planning and Funding

To profitably develop and grow Franchise Finance through the preparation of business plans, financial forecasts and arranging finance for both franchisee and franchisor clients. To meet the finance targets set by Franchise Finance and to assist other key stakeholders (e.g. Franchise Finance Leasing Centre and Franchise Finance Training Academy) by identifying and delivering appropriate opportunities.

Key Accountabilities

Achieve the agreed financial targets and objectives set by the senior management team (i.e. volume, margin, contribution & income)

Preparation of template business plans for new Franchisor clients

Updating and maintaining the accuracy of existing client's template business plans

Preparation of Business Plans and Financial Forecasts for both new and existing franchise businesses

The preparation and submission of finance applications to lenders

Managing finance applications through to drawdown/completion.

Liaising with the client, franchisor and lender throughout the process and managing the process and expectations accordingly

Handling new leads via telephone, emails, and online enquiries

Liaising with other areas of the business, including Franchise Finance Leasing Centre and Franchise Finance Training Academy to make referrals as appropriate

To work closely with the Credit risk department when issues arise on customer's accounts (e.g. payment/rescheduling issues)

Represent Franchise Finance at key events/exhibitions

Assisting and supporting the Head of Business Planning & Funding

Contacting / liaising with franchisors as appropriate

Manage assigned franchisor relationships (specifically in relation to business planning & funding) and develop incremental business opportunities

To fully use and utilise the Franchise Finance CRM system to manage activity, contact strategy and relationship

Recommending process and other improvements that will deliver improved performance, working arrangements and/or customer satisfaction

From time to time, deputising for the Head of Business Planning & Funding, including but not limited to; attendance at senior management meetings, provision of monthly reports for presentation to the senior management team

To deliver and demonstrate fair customer outcomes to customers ('customer' is a generic term for internal and external stakeholders whether they be customer, suppliers or other bodies)

Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and specifically that which relates to Data Protection, Money Laundering and Treating the Customer Fairly (TCF) and attend training as may be appropriate from time to time

To undertake any other duties as specified from time to time in accordance with our clients business requirements.

To be involved with ad-hoc projects as may be required from time to time

Skills

A track record in successfully dealing with credit applications

Detailed understanding of small business finance and accounts

Capable of preparing P&L, Cash Flow and Balance sheet forecasts

Able to prepare and understand business plans

Must demonstrate excellent communication skills

An ability to build relationships

Must have an ability to work in a team environment

Must have good problem-solving skills

Competent in the use of both Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel

Decision-making

An ability to predict and plan for future business requirements
