Working for a professional, well established SME. Managing a small team processing all transactions up to trial balance level.
Monthly reconciliation; salaries, pensions, health insurance, staff loans
Reconciliation and posting of journal entries, prepayments and accruals
Reconciliation of nominal ledger accounts, including intercompany balances, pre-payments, Gift Aid debtor
Preparation of quarterly Group VAT returns for review by the Finance Director
Bank Reconciliations for all sub accounts
Day-to-day management of cash flow, inter-account transfers, reconciling and managing petty cash
Posting cash and invoice information into Sage and balancing ledgers.
Review Aged Debtors and Creditors
Day-to-day maintenance of Cash Book
Day-to-day review of internet transactions
Processing employee expenses
Group Fixed Assets - depreciation postings and reconciling back to ledger
Investments - posting journal and reconciliation back to the investment managers monthly statements
Reconciliation and payments
Producing the sales invoices
Monthly / Yearly ledger closure
Provide cover for the temporary absence of either the Senior Accounts Assistant or the Accounts Assistant
Part-qualified CIMA Management (or qualified by experience)
Multi-year experience in a complex SME accounting environment (multi entity - different ledgers) or a very successful exam record for part-qualified with 2 years in a similar environment
Experience of successfully managing/supervising a small team is essential
Experience of preparing statutory accounts would be an advantage, as would process review and implementing new systems.
IT literate with Excel/Word skills to intermediate level
Good working knowledge of Sage (preferably Line 200) or similar accounting software package, with hands-on experience of processing transactions
