Tate Hitchin are recruiting for a Buyer for a newly created role in Letchworth.
Salary guide circa £28,000. Immediately available post.

Our client is looking for a Buyer to work very closely with a small team of Directors, Project Managers and Engineers to be responsible for the timely and cost effective procurement of high value AV and electrical equipment, and in-house consumables for their niche, high end business.

This is a key support function, very team orientated and a hands on role that will pull on your buying and negotiation expertise but also your organisational skills too.
Key Responsibilities:
. Reviewing the sourcing strategy, suppliers and costs
. Improving on forecasting and financial tracking.
. Manage full procurement of goods from suppliers across: UK, EU and US.
. Managing the critical path to ensure equipment is ordered and delivered on time.
. Control of all stock and consumables.
. Keeping an inventory of equipment returned or unused and disposing of excess stock as soon as possible.
. Physical organisation of a small on site warehouse
We are looking for:
. Professional Buying experience ( Audio Visual and IT sector products desirable)
. Ability to calculate costs from source to destination (using various currencies)
. Experience demonstrating cost saving procurement solutions implemented in previous roles.
. Good negotiation and networking skills.
. Able to create, manage and work to a critical path plans
. Ability to set business targets, time lines, plans and financial targets.
. Full Driving Licence.
. Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) qualification would be an advantage, and could allow for possible negotiation on salary.

This business is a SME with a family feel and culturally and operationally very different from working for a large organisation. You will be working in close proximity with a small team but will need to manage your own work load independently.
