Tate Recruitment Agency are working in partnership with South Central Ambulance Service NHS Trust and are seeking to recruit NHS 111 Call Handlers for our call centre based in Otterbourne, Winchester. This role is a in a busy, patient focused environment, handling calls from members of the public regarding urgent/emergency health problems.

Your role will be to effectively utilise NHS Pathways Triage software to provide the caller with an appropriate response to urgent health care needs within a time frame, so you could be dispatching an ambulance or booking a GP appointment.
It is a challenging yet very rewarding role, and no shift is the same.

* Are computer literature including in MS Office packages?
* Are keen to learn new skills and develop?

You will be required to complete a six week full time training course in NHS Pathways. This covers full training in our systems and then supports coaching in the call centre environment. You will be supported in the call centre by Quality Assurance Coaches, Team Leaders, Clinical Advisors and Clinical Managers.

Working pattern: We have Part-time positions covering weekends, nights and evenings with shift lengths of 6 hours..

* Four on four off nights attracting 26.5hrs

* 12 to 18 hours working three weekends out of four

* All staff will be expected to work Bank Holidays (inc Christmas, Easter etc).

Please note that you must be at least 18 years of age to apply for this role. This restriction is in place due to the night shift working required for this role.

Please note that in order to be considered for this role you will need to be able to commit to a full time 6 week call handling and software assessment training course. These courses are usually held in Otterbourne.

During your 3 month initial period of work you will be paid £8 /ph and an unsocial hours allowance of up to 25%.

Upon completing a successful 3 months, there is an opportunity to be taken permanently and your salary will be discussed.
