A Competent and Reliable Referrals Coordinator is required to join a friendly team
Based in Hanger lane
· Loading Referrals
The referrals to be loaded, would be found on emails which would have been sent by GPS or Hospitals. From this information you would then extract the most relevant details of the patient (basic details e.g. Name, DOB, Address) and attach the referral itself, which you will import from the emails in order to process this on to the next stage, being validation.
Validating is where vigilance is most key. For this role you will be inputting the rest of the data on to the database e.g. Hospital choice, Speciality (condition). This stage is very important as you will need to act as a second pair of eyes for the loader and make sure that all the correct information has been inputted.
Booking, involves both customer service, and data entry. The first step is opening the validation query, which you will then have to process for booking. So verifying that the hospital choice and all the patients details are correct. Liaising with GPS to confirm that the priority for the patient is correct, confirming with the patient that the days requested for the appointments are correct. Then booking the appointment after everything has been configured, after this you will complete a letter which already has a template which you will then send out to the patient to confirm their appointment details.
· Customer service/ Phones
This role involves speaking to GPs, Patients and Hospitals; clearing any queries they may have in regards to the referrals. Some of the queries may include, yet are not limited to - re-arranging appointment for GPs, patients and hospitals, cancelling appointments, booking appointments, liaising with GPs in regards to urgent, missed or lost referrals and also dealing with incorrect referrals - this role involves having a calm and collected manner on the phone and equally a clear and concise telephone manner

Along with booking patients referrals this role involves dealing with urgent GP queries, transferring data on the ERS system, accessing patient records to amend and also assisting patients with security information when at the hospital
