Welfare Administrator - Central Southampton - Immediate start - £18,000 -£19,000 PA.
Monday - Friday - 9am -5pm
Main Duties and Responsibilities: The Welfare Administrator is a key member of staff dealing and assisting with enquiries from the Boards Constituent members and general public.
Ø Responding to written, telephone and email enquiries that are welfare related for the Board and Support helpline in a timely manner.
Ø Recording and filing of all enquiries.
Ø Arranging and following up caseworker home visits on behalf of Constituent charities in a timely manner.
Ø Assisting in the maintenance of the welfare database covering details of all persons applying for, or in receipt of grants.
Ø Assessing and processing applications for financial assistance and liaising with Constituent member charities in a timely manner.
Ø General office support for the Welfare Manager
Ø Maintain and update the on-line Welfare Guide.
Ø Attend welfare forums and seminars if required.
Ø Conduct research as directed.
Ø Attend promotion events as and when required.
Ø Keep Facebook and Twitter updated daily.
Ø Ensure that knowledge of welfare issues is up to date and ensure that any changes are actioned as necessary.
· Deputise for the Office Manager in their absence.
· Assist in other general office duties in the absence of other staff.
· Undertake any other tasks commensurate with position and salary.
· Attend a recognised first aid course.
· Attend relevant training as agreed by the CE.
· Be pro-active to enhance the profile of the Welfare Department.
Hours of Work: Normal office hours are 9.00am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday.
Travel: Occasional travel may be required. Overnight travel is by mutual agreement, for which no compensation other than the aforementioned expenses will be given. In the event that it becomes necessary to travel or work outside normal office hours, time off in lieu will be given, although this does not extend to time spent resting in a hotel.
Holiday Entitlement: The Board observes all Public and Bank Holidays in England and holiday entitlement is a further 25 working days.
