Q: How did you get to your current position?
It started with an idea to create an Apprenticeship division. I’ve always been an outside of the box thinker and the idea rapidly grew into a very lucrative business that lead to my promotion to Director.
Q: What qualities do you look for in your team and why?
The most important quality is hard work and understanding “why” we do what we do. If you are passionate about the reason that you go to work - then the rest of the job comes easily.
Q: What has been the biggest challenge in your career to date and why?
Joining Tate at Managerial level with ZERO recruitment experience! I had it all to learn but I guess I have done OK
Q: What advice would you give to a younger 'you' starting out in your career?
You just can’t beat the person that never gives up! Believe in yourself and don’t be afraid to colour outside of the lines.
Q: What motivates you and why? What gets you up in the morning?
Making a positive difference to someone’s life. Even if its small to you it may be massive to the individual. Tate Apprenticeships allows me to do that on so many levels.
Q: What is your most memorable career moment?
Turning around a business that was going to close into the 2nd best business in a National company, doubling income in the first year and stabilising in the second.
Q: What are your interests and hobbies outside of work?
I love keeping fit and especially running – I will have completed 10 Marathons by the end of this year. Coaching my Son’s football team and watching the players develop.
Q: What is your favourite film?
Picking one is hard! But if I had to pick one it would have to be “The Pursuit of Happiness”
Q: Best book you've read?
The Art of being brilliant
