Health and Safety is becoming fashionable
27/10/2009
Whilst fashion still prevails over comfort and practicality the gap is closing in and, more and more office workers would prefer to wear low-heeled footwear more in keeping with Health and Safety advice, rather than the traditional high heel.
In fact, a recent survey of 600 people, commissioned by Tate, specialists in office support recruitment, revealed that over 40 per cent of people would prefer that high heels were banned in the workplace for health and safety reasons. Statistics from Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists indicate that 40 per cent of women and 17 per cent of men cram their feet into ill-fitting shoes.
The remaining 56 per cent of office workers however, will admit that comfort is a secondary concern and, continue to wear uncomfortable footwear in the name of fashion.
